Another power loss. Were you prepared? There will be more times coming when the weather will have PG&E cutting power to reduce the chances of branches blowing against a line, creating a shower of sparks! As you now are all too aware, we end up spending hours, even days without the comforts: no lights, no Internets for those who use it, and possibly no cell service. So here are some ways to stave off boredom: Yes, of course you have some light, maybe more than a flashlight! And maybe you have thought to put in a supply of batteries? You will be sorry if you have no extras. And your cellphone will be a real asset, but it will suck power and have you looking for a car to recharge. OR...you could get a Power Bank and be sent. See the info in this first topicBut put these extras in a special spot so that when you have NO light, you can find them. Of course a few small flashlights stowed away in a nightstand, one in a bathroom drawer, maybe one on the table next to your chair where you read. You can't ve sure when the lights will go out, and if it is dark out, it's darker in the halls of Cottonwood. You want to be able to reach for a light FWIW, I an still wondering about my FM radio? It is a very good model, but the only station that comes in reliably is NPR 90.0. It also gets the NPR Classical station and Jazz stations, but for local news? No luck. I guess I have to try an FM antenna.
