Is it a bad thing to say that TV is so last century? As much as it costs, it doesn't do very much. Miss a favorite program? Better have a VCR, or wait a few months for reruns. How about WI-FI and how well it replaces TV for less money. But I have wi-fi for $10 a month and I get to watch lots of TV shows I enjoy and I get to roll back to watch old shows if I want.
The Internet connection is wifi. Cable TV is nothing like wifi, so yes, two series. To get to the point, you can get most of anything you like on TV but get it as a streaming service on your computer. Oops! Yes, you need a computer OR a smartphone OR a tablet (iPad or ?) But know this: if you have a big flat screen, you can get an iPad or ? and a Firestickor a Roku device, you will get find a program on your digital device and send it to your TV for watching on that bigger screen. Note that the Firestick is a part of the Alexa system from Amazon and there are many advantages.
So what is streaming? It is what it sounds like. You open a movie or program onto the digital device (yes, even a digital phone) and the signal does not download, it streams onto the device and you watch. When you finish and shut off the program, it is gone! Nothing taking up space on your end.
There are too many things to mention, but a few popular streaming TV services are CBS Paramount and NBC Peacock; Aoole TV is a mix of videos made just for Apple. All three services cost $5 a month if you allow ads, up, or $10 to skip the ads. I will mention the PBS also offers bot Passport for all the basic video programs like Nature and NOVA, and separate fee for Masterpiece episodes. Might check those.
So I dropped cable many months ago and I only have wi-fi programs and I do not miss TV. I have purchased some of the big series programs like Breaking Bad, The Wire, and Sopranos. All with wi-fi and loving it.
