A smartphone with 64GB of storage is not the same as the Gigs of your phone plan. You data plan is typically 2GB (or sometimes less) and that is the data that you are using, sometimes without knowing, when you are on your phone. You might review another page with info to help understand the Data on you plan and what eats it. But until you read that, check this: " ONE GB of your data plan will allow you to browse the internet for around 12 hours, to stream 200 songs, or to watch 2 hours of standard-definition video." – Source
That sounds like a lot, so what's the problem? There are many other things that chew away at your data and maybe go beyond the "limit"on your monthly plan. But you do not run out of data, you might just end up "throttled" to reduce the speed of any downloading. For instance, a video might show upon chunks as it paused to wait for more data to download before it continues. In most cases you will see extra charges for going over your limit. ConsumerCellular just bumps your account up to the next level and you pay for that. You will need to go online to lower it back before the next cycle, they don't assume anything. T-Mobile has a nice approach where you get unlimited data , but at 50GB, you get a slow-down. But I challenge you to use 50GB if you are living life at Cottonwood. And T-Mobile is $27 a month, CC is about $20. Check your usage.
