Want to see 17 ways to get your protein, cheap? A HealthLine newsletter came my way, and this may be interesting to you. The ListYou probably know most of the foods listed (peanut butter, eggs, tuna, etc...) but it is still worth a read to confirm what you may already know. One thing I expected to see was quinoa ( keen-uwah). Do you use quinoa? A secret of the Andes, it came onto the scene only some years ago and is worth trying. It's considered a grain, but a false grain because it is not a grass. All other grains are members of the grass family, Poaceae. And yes, corn is a grass. Quinoa is a seed from the Amaranth (spinach) family. It's not too expensive, found in the regular grocery stores, and couldn't be faster to prepare. Easier than brown rice and nutritionally similar, loaded with vitamins and protein. The only problem is that a serving is only a cup or so. That's not much., Any comments?
