Simply put, your phone sends out wireless signals to nearby towers that relay to a series of other towers (cells) until it hits your recipient. If the call is a voice ca; or text message, it is free. But if it is to look at your Facebook page, or Amazon, or to check the weather, it is a data call. If you sit and listen to music, the data use is pretty great! Watch a video, even in your apartment and that sucks up data.? You want to be on a wi-fi network as much as possible. Remember, even in your apartment, data gets used for anything Internet. This is why you want to know how much data you get with your cellular plan. You should really have a WI-FI (Internet service) account for your apartment and save the data plan for when you are away in town. Get wi-fi service with either Comcast or AT&T and use that for web browsing! You get massive ata at a small price. Note: SNAP (EBT) users can get Internet access for only $10 a month.

And you will be happy to know that lots of places offer free wi-fi use just for stopping by. You can even be parked outside.
