Actually, no it wasn't. It was entertains for the loud, poorly informed comments that were flying as a few "experts" took over to explain stuff about how PG&E works. But I should start at the beginning...
As usual, there was an announcement about carpeting! Clearly I am missing a lot, I have no complaints about the hallway carpet. It is green, that's all I know. But in the words on management, it is disgusting! Several of the residents quickly agreed and muttered barely audible remarks, no doubt in agreement. But good news, the carpet gets replaced right after the solar panels are installed. I had to wonder how the solar seemed to be a known addition? But more on that in aa minute...
The next items were covered in mere minutes: Some paperwork will be done and numbers will be assigned and painted on each space. Not sure why this requires paperwork since it has been discussed every meeting since January, but there you have it.
Also, we are reminded not to put things on the patio windowsill, and somebody is tossing birdseed out there, the bastards! and rats are attracted. This has to stop. Birds are annoying too. Nature sucks. It makes me glad that the Alyssum seed was sprayed with weedkiller. Who knows what might have ended up hiding in that greenery. We can't be too careful.
And then it was time to listen to a five-minute prepared speech about cigarette smoke, then Ginger was able to encapsulate the meat of the message in about six words. So we are well aware of the problem of smoke in the building. Curious to me, a woman refuses to sign het new lease because she will not o outside to smoke! I'm not clear how refusing to sign the lease leaves her able to stay here and smoke when it is against the rules? But it seems the smoker has the upper hand. Interesting.
Then it was time for PG&E bashing. I was surprised at the several experts who could explain how things should have been done! Loud remarks about grids and ways we could have had power, if only...! And solar? A waste of time, it is no good when it's dark. Oh, there is a switch, and a battery that only lasts two hours! And the NiCad batteries wear out, so solar is a bad deal . My favorite comment was Ginger telling us that "if you get the Google, you can learn this stuff!" I want to get some Google. It sounds helpful. Not quite true.
One expert announced in a loud proclamation the the Governor had ordered PG&E to send every household $100 to cover spoiled food.
I never speak up at the meetings, but this one had me laughing outlaid when I could not control a reaction. It was quick, and not loud enough to attract attention.
The meeting was ending when Ginger asked ne how rgwe Fish trip had turned out? Easy answer: a failure, no responses. She asked about Smokey (I had asked if Smokey would be a forbidden corporate shill?) I simply said no Smokey plans, deciding not to ex[lain that this place is not showing interest in any of my ideas.
The meeting was ended.
PS: Neighbor Jan in 125 asked me what I had been pounding on at 4:30 this morn have been cracking a couple of eggs, but no other noise. I am unnerved that sounds penetrate the floor here, and I have to muffle a sneeze or Jan will ak if I am okay
