If you are hard of hearing, you no doubt know it. I said If you are hard of hearing,...! So IF you are fond of turning up the volume for your TV, please investigate of headphones that let you listen without bothering your neighbors. Somebody (new?) on the top floor is now disrupting my quiet enjoyment of some Internet audio, I also hear the low thumping and blurry spoken sounds of some afternoon program. I have asked the manager to visit the floor to listen, weeks later, nothing done. Poor me.

I bought my Dad a TV Soundbox and it works great. He bought a second one for Mom, and another for his 96 year old sister. It'sa very simple design which makes it senior friendly. The control is a retro rotating dial. It's rechargable, but I bought an extra power adapter and Mom's is plugged into an electrical outlet by her chair, so no need to recharge. A little pricey but it puts the speaker nearer to the TV viewer. It is wireless and can be carried to the kitchen or other areas. I didn't purchase it at Amazon, but the link above has some customer reviews that might be helpful. I bought mine on eBay for a little under $100 with free shipping. A little risky, but it was new in the original sealed box from a vendor with high feedback. Dad likes to listen to the easy listening music channel on his cable and will carry the speaker outside to the patio occasionally. The range on it is very good. I'm not too many years away from needing one.

Wow. When I added the link for headphones I winced at the prices around $75+. The SoundBox at $140.00 is a push, but if the person on the third floor would get one, I'd pay half! (no I wouldn't.) But thanks for adding that info and link.
