We have no choice. We need propane, Kamps is the supplier, period. I am still holding a grudge that we have to pay a $150 deposit that stays on Kamps books until we leave Cottonwood! Personally, when I leave I won't be carrying a suitcase, if you know what I mean. When I paid a deposit for PG&E years ago, once I was established as a paying customer with no problems, my deposit was used to pay my bills. Kamps? No such luck.
In my time here, my usage has always been a curious even amount at 100 CuFt and my bill almost always about $6, tops. I don't use heat, I don't use the oven (can't see what I'm doing!) In November, it jumped to 300 CuFt, then in December it went to 500 CuFt. ! My June and November use should be just about the same. So why the jumps? I called to ask.
The answer was pretty hard for me to accept. "It's colder now." Well, thanks. But I am not using heat. Then I was told that my water tank needed to keep the water hot in colder weather, so more propane. Well, last years by bill was half of this year's. Has the price of propane increases dramatically? I sure can't see any news of that on my bills. Since the water tanks are in a locked closet, aren't they pretty much protected from "cold"?
They said there might be a problem with my meter. OR a leak on the line. Two weeks waiting, no reports of any inspection. So they did offer me a solution: they could disconnect my service! How helpful.
So how are your monthly numbers going Comments?

...and it just gets worse! Now my propane bill is up to $ 32.00.That is a bizarre jump, up from $18.00 last month. They explain that is was cold last month. Baloney!~ the average temp was 46° (lowest temp was 38°. To me? That isn't so cold. See the records. I still never turn on any heat. Ever! I am really wondering how insulated the closet is? I need manager, enet to open the door. Some sort of jacketing ought to be available. The fact that I only get really warm water, not ouch hot! just adds to the aggravation.

No answer, no explanation, now my bill for March is $32.33, last year it was $12.20. NOTHING in my life has changed and I do not use propane heat or for cooking! I hate what Kamps sucks in such profit because the gas heater is not in an insulated space, so anything over maybe $12.00 is simply propane being burned to keep water warm that I do not use.!
