An unexpected benefit of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is that Amazon Prime is half price ($5 a month) if you supply a photo of your card! I have wanted to stop shopping with Amazon, both because I figure the owner has made enough money, and local shops might have everything I need. So paying over $100 a year for "free" delivery was the final straw. I walked away. Alas, try as I did, I found only partial success shopping Walmart, Target, or other local shops! Ironically, it turns out that some of my items just don't show up on local shelves. In particulart, True Lemon and True Lime are simply not found in any grocery stores only on Amazon. Nuts! I had to get more, so I wrnt online to order. That was when I discovered that a SNAP card allowed me to re-up as a Prime member for $5 a month. Not only would I get my citrus crystals faster, I could have access to Prime Videods included. This made it too attractive to miss out. I joined, placed my order, and my items were delivered the very next day! No more two-day delivery, now it is ONE Day. Hell yes it's worth it!

Steve, Have you tried the other free Prime perks like Amazon Photos for unlimited photo storage, Amazon Music for free music to listen to at any time (listening to Dave Brubeck this morning), the Washington Post online newspaper, or Prime Reading for ebooks? The value with Prime is far beyond the delivery perk.

the other free Prime perks.. Good point. moss, but not stuff I can really use. I have no need for photo storage ( I have some great expensive camera gear sitting here but find it little use when I only stay in town, no more mountain trips! The ebooks or newspaper are possible, but having my Mac read text is actually pretty realistic with adsense and tone, some of the pronunciations are genially comically wrong! Musis could get my attention so yes, I need to check that out, So thanks for that reminder of benefits I had plainly missed. No doubt this will help others, good job.

Steve , I haven't used it, but Amazon offers some free audiobook content with the Audible app.
